GUJRANWALA: Two people were gunned down over money at Awan Chowk on Sunday.
Shahid had Rs 200,000 dispute with some people. On Sunday, Shahid and his friend Ilyas were sitting outside his house when the rival party opened fire on them. Shahid died on the spot while Ilyas breathed his last at DHQ Hospital.
Separately, FIA arrested two human traffickers and recovered 10 Pakistani passports and currency from them.
Raiding parties headed by Inspector Muhammad Sajjad Bajwa conducted raids in Kharian and Gujrat and arrested Shajar Abbas and Muhammad Waqas. FIA also recovered 5,000 Iraqi dinar, 102 Saudi Riyal and Rs 32,000 from them. The accused were sending people to Greece through Iran and Turkey.
Meanwhile, as many as 30 citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables.
In Satellite town, three robbers stopped Ahsan and snatched cash and cell phone. In Khiali area, robbers entered the shop of Usman and fled with Rs 15,000 and other valuables. In Ferozewala, robbers took away Rs 45,000, a cell phone and wrist watch from Saqlain while Asif was also deprived of Rs 70,000, a gold chain and cell phone. In Sohdra, bandits snatched Rs 90,000, gold ornaments and cell phones from Abdul Wahid and his family In Cantt, armed men snatched Rs 30,000 and a cell phone from Asif while Ahmed Nagar Tariq was deprived of Rs 75,000, a gold chain and cell phone, in Ghakkar Mandi dacoits deprived Shehryar of Rs 20,000, a motorcycle and cell phone. In Nowshera Virkan, Liaqat was deprived of Rs 30,000, a gold chain and cell phone while Arshad was also deprived of Rs 60,000, a watch and cell phones. In Saddar Kamoke armed men looted gold ornaments, Rs 60,000 and two cell phones from Farid and his family, while robbers snatched Rs 50,000, gold ring and cell phones from Waheed, in Kotwali swindlers looted Rs 70,000 and gold ornaments from Nasreen, in Qilla Didar Singh on Noor Pur Road dacoits took away Rs 40,000 and cell phone from Ishaq, at Wahndo armed men snatched Rs. 70 thousands, gold ornaments and cell phones from Amir and his family, in Sadar Wazirabad police station limit bandits looted Rs 40,000 and gold ornaments from Naeem and his wife, in theft incidents unknown thieves swept the houses and shops of Abdul Hameed, Noman, Asim, Tahir and Usman while car of Imtiaz and motorcycles of Jaffer, Muskan, Shahid, Akbar, Waheed, Tanvir and Tufail were stolen from different places of the city.
Separately, Centre of Pakistan for National and International Affairs President Aman Malik said women are playing a vital role for the development and prosperity of the country. He added that there is much more to do on the part of the government and society for safety of the working women. He said this while addressing a ceremony held in the chamber of commerce and industry Gujranwala on Sunday.
