ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) asked Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Shrif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to resign, calling early elections amid the Panamagate probe on Thursday.
Talking to reporters outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the PTI leaders Baber Awan and Naeeul Haq called for fresh elections in the country.
They said that the elections should be held early so that public can choose their new leader. Baber said that all the parties were demanding resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He added that the finance minister and the chief minister should also resign.
He added that the people want fresh election. “We call upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar to resign immediately. We call on Pakistanis to give another push to this system,” he added.
