LARKANA: Qadir Bux, a candidate for PS-10, has filed objection against candidature of Faryal Talpur before Larkana-1 Returning Officer (RO) Muhammad Ali Ruk on Wednesday through his advocate Ghulam Dastagir Shahani.
In his grounds, he has alleged that while Member of National Assembly (MNA), Faryal held Iqama of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and took a job as executive director of an offshore company, while at the same time drawing a salary as well as perks of a parliamentarian of Pakistan.
He also mentioned that the Faryal Talpur also failed to mention existence of the company in nomination papers filed before RO. He alleged that she also declared her total income in column 10 as agriculture income. Moreover, Bhatti claimed that the candidate in question also holds Benami properties in UAE in names of her front men including Villa 775 al Furjan Dubai in the name of Abbas Zardari.
Flat no. 603, 6th floor, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai is in the name of Abbas Zardari. flat no. 102 Business Way Executive Tower, Dubai, is in the name of her personal staff Hamid Samo. Gulf Residence Motor City, Dubai and flat no. GR2, 113, Gulf Residence (Both in the name Hamid Samo). He further alleged that the finances of these properties were provided by the candidate in question and the properties were purchased in the names of front men and personal staff.
Bhatti said that Talput got general power of attorney executed in her favour from Ghulam Abbas Zardari. The general power of attorney in terms of law becomes a sale deed, he added. The general power of attorney is in respect of flat no. 603 Palm Jumeirah Dubai but the candidate never disclosed in her tax returns in Pakistan nor with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), he went on in his objection.
He said that, in other words, the documents appended with this application show that besides being untruthful about her employment, assets and salary, the candidate in question has also been devious and dishonest about her occupation and profession and to her oath that she has taken.
Bhatti further stated that she is not fit to lawfully hold office of MNA, even is not fit to be employed in Government job or hold any public office or “contest elections for lifetime” as the issue has been settled by Supreme Court of Pakistan in its recent judgments.
