DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Cantonment Police arrested a convict on Wednesday who had escaped the prison along with 175 other inmates in the July 2013 jail break. Police sources said that Rehmatullah was serving a life sentence in murder and attempted murder cases before his escape. Dozens of heavily-armed Pakistani Taliban insurgents had helped free nearly 175 inmates during a brazen overnight attack on the central jail in Dera Ismail Khan on July 30, 2013. Among the escaping prisoners 35 were reportedly high-profile militants.
