The American magazine, The National Interest, has lauded Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, highlighting the country’s strengthened ties with the United States and its strategic success against India.
According to the publication, US President Donald Trump has reinforced his new partnership with Field Marshal Munir by announcing majorf economic agreements with Pakistan. Analysts note that this move not only reflects deepening bilateral relations but also signals a shift in Washington’s regional stance.
The magazine observed that Pakistan’s steady diplomatic approach dealt a significant setback to India, particularly after recent border tensions. It recalled how the Pakistan Air Force downed Indian fighter jets during a period of heightened hostilities, underscoring Islamabad’s resolve.
Further, The National Interest praised Pakistan’s mediating role in disputes with India, noting that US President Trump supported Pakistan’s call for a ceasefire between the two South Asian rivals. Pakistan, in turn, nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his role. However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejected Washington’s mediation efforts and declined an invitation to visit the White House-a move that reportedly angered Trump.
Despite Modi’s refusal, President Trump extended a warm welcome to Field Marshal Munir in Washington. Within weeks, the partnership was further consolidated with key economic pacts, while the US simultaneously imposed tariffs on India for its oil dealings with Russia.
In another notable development, Washington officially designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a terrorist organization-an action widely interpreted as a diplomatic signal distancing the US from New Delhi.
Pakistani analysts believe that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s steadfast leadership and effective diplomacy have enhanced Pakistan’s international standing while exerting significant pressure on India at the global stage.
