ISLAMABAD: Federal and provincial parliamentarians spent approximately Rs 6.5 million on ‘lavish dishes’ – during the budget session of fiscal year 2016-17 – from the national exchequer.
Sources said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s craving of extravagant meals was the reason expensive food was cooked for Finance Ministry’s officials and the legislators – whose burden is put on the masses.
“Audit officials have termed these useless expenses ‘illegal’ and ordered a probe into the matter”, sources concluded.
