ISLAMABAD: United States (US) Acting Assistant Secretary of State Alice Wells has on Monday arrived in Pakistan.
Wells has come to Pakistan on a visit to find ‘common grounds and shared objectives’ of the two nations for ‘peace and stability in the region’.
She met Foreign Secretary Tamina Janjua on the visit and discussed the Pak-US ties with her post Trump tweet on Pakistan in which the US President had blamed Pakistan of ‘lies and deceit’.
The relations between the two countries are considered to be at a low after Trump not only accused Pakistan of deceiving US in the war on terror but also held the security aid. Pakistan, in turn, had raised the fare for the NATO supply trucks that use Pakistani soil for entering Afghanistan.
