ISLAMABAD: Rain-thunderstorm with strong gusty winds is expected at isolated places of Islamabad, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in next 24 hours, while hot and dry weather will prevail in other parts of the country.
Thunder showers is forecast in upper Punjab at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Lahore divisions, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and Mardan divisions, upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Seasonal low lies over northeast-Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Moist currents are penetrating upper and eastern parts of the country and likely to continue during next few days. A fresh westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to continue during next four days, an official of Met office told APP.
In last 24 hours weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places of Malakand, Kalat divisions, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rainfall recorded during this time span remained FATA: Parachinar 16mm, Balochistan: Khuzdar 13mm, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Saidu Sharif 11mm, Gilgit-Baltistan: Gilgit 05mm, Chilas 03mm and Bunji 01mm.
Maximum temperatures recorded on Sunday were Dalbandin 42øC, Nokkundi 41øC, Noorpurthal, Bhakkar 40øC, Lahore 38øC, Peshawar, Faisalabad 37øC, Multan 36øC, Chitral, Islamabad 35øC, Muzaffarabad, Quetta, Hyderabad 34øC, Dir 33øC, Gilgit 32øC, Kalat, Karachi 30øC, Hunza 27øC, Skardu 26øC and Murree 24øC.
